Take 30 photographs that convey the things that you find beautiful. These photographs should be more than just a catalogue or record of items or things you find beautiful. Try to take photographs that show the viewer through your eyes how you see things. Try to evoke that same feeling out of the viewer that you have. The photographs should be:
1. all taken during this class(not before).
2. an attempt at beauty–not last minute junk. Last minute junk is usually someone taking photographs the day it is due as a way to receive some grade.
3. not snapshots.
4. all pictures taken by yourself. If other people shoot the photographs then it is not your work.
5. different. There shouldn’t be the exact same shot with one picture being color and the other being black and white.
6. not using effects.
7. properly rotated.

Mrs. Sargent told me about this television show. I’m going to check it out and may want to do so also. It looks interesting.

Use the elements and principles of art as your main idea for taking the photographs.
1. Choose 2-4 elements or principles of art from this list at this link:
http://pagodaproductions.com/art/?p=21
2. Take 100 photographs total only using no more than 2-4 elements or principles of art total as the primary focus in the composition. Upload these 100 photographs on flickr or coppermine.
3. Of these 100 photographs choose 3-10 photographs as your best works and label them accordingly. Instead, these works can be put into a folder on flickr or coppermine named “Elements and Principles Best Work” or “E & P Best Work”.
4. (Optional) The 3-10 best works may be edited on the computer, however, I do want the original photograph(s) available for comparison.

Eventually on Flickr you will reach your size limit or reach your limit on categories. When this happens, you should go here:

You will have to send me an e-mail to have an account setup though.

Take 30 photographs total dealing with different types of light. Of these 30 photographs there must be photographs showing:
3 diffuse(soft) light
3 direct(hard) light
3 directional
Within the 30 photographs you must show natural, artificial, and a combination of natural and artificial lighting.
